Uncovered Lines
Tactical games · Chess tactics
The piece that moves is rarely the one that wins.
You play White in every position. In each one, a piece stands in front of another piece of yours. Move the front piece so it checks or threatens something, and the piece behind it then attacks too. Tap a piece, then tap a dotted square, or drag it there. When your move is right, the computer plays Black's best reply and you play the winning capture. When it is wrong, one sentence tells you why and the board resets. Positions 1 to 8 are discovered attacks, 9 to 14 discovered checks and 15 to 20 double checks. Solve a position first time for a tick, or after a retry for a circled tick. Hint names the first move but costs the tick. Show answer plays the line one move at a time.
